Andersen Silva's Journal

26th September, 2007. 7:42 am. Not bricked yet

Ah, it's fun to plug the iPhone into the PowerBook and hear... a TiVo sound. Now that I can FTP in to the iPhone, I've figured out how to customize icons and system sounds.  :-D  I've already replaced the Safari and iPod icons to better match OS X's Safari and iTunes looks. As I showed Jonathan on Saturday, my iPhone also has bugs in it. Ants, specifically. Well, virtual ones. Someone with way too much time on his/her hands seems to have decided that what the iPhone lacked was insect life crawling across the screen, so now I have a random ant or three walking over my Web pages or my notes or calendar. They're squashable, too! Yes, apparently Apple is warning that third-party modifications will void the warranty, but when did I ever need Apple's warranty? If it were a Dell product, maybe I'd be worried...

I've received birthday presents already from my parents, my sister and her family, and my friend Pam. Thanks, everyone! However, since it's not actually my birthday yet, I haven't opened them. Well, I did open Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde, since my mom purchased that and a few other CDs in front of me, after I'd picked them out, and they weren't wrapped. Heh-heh... She also got me a much-needed new phone/answering machine system, which I haven't brought home yet (it's still at my parents' house). The answering machine I've been using was new when I bought it... in 1992.  =-O  It's tape-based, and not working so well these last several months, so when she asked what I wanted for my birthday... I'll be opening the other received gifts tomorrow night, since I'm flying to Sin City on Friday evening and won't be home on my birthday Saturday.

I was listening to some of my own music on the iPhone while heading to work this morning, and I've gotta say I like the bass on "Rock and Roll Day." I won't be taking over for Les Claypool or Geddy Lee anytime soon, but still... not bad at all. Heh.

Current mood: amused.
Current music: "Tehran" by The Offspring.
