Andersen Silva's Journal Isn't that a song by... no, wait, never mind. Had an unexpected dinner with Gina after she E-mailed and asked if I wanted to go this evening. We both finally got to satisfy our sushi cravings... :) And even without Daruma's excellent Thai peanut roll and sea monster roll, it was wonderful to see her again. I saw my old roommate Kim, and her brother Michael, Saturday night; we went to Jose Tejas to celebrate all three of our birthdays at Jose Tejas, since we're all within three weeks of each other. Kim wanted to go to the Nutley Pub afterwards, and I obliged, but places like that kinda disturb me these days. Do those people know that they're not actually 25 anymore? Some people get waaay too serious about karaoke, too. If you're going to do it, it should be for fun. Kim and I did "Paradise by the Dashboard Light," a song we've sung together a few times before. Maybe it was all the beer, but everyone seemed to think we sounded all right... Barbara and I picked up my parents' cat Priscilla earlier Saturday. Barbara is going to cat-sit while my parents are in Brazil; they should be en route at the moment. I need to visit Brazil again myself. Maybe that's a trip I can make next year, though things in the support department are going to need to stabilize a bit more before I can really think about taking two weeks (or more!) off straight. Well, next week is Arizona, a business trip but one which should afford a little fun, at least, and then next month I'll visit Boston for a few days. I've been thinking that I might have to see my friends the penguins at the Aquarium once more. So, who wants to see Dayglow this Saturday night? A few of my friends and co-workers have expressed an interest. I'm going regardless of whether or not anyone else does; I dig the girls, and it's almost definitely going to be my last visit to CBGB's, even if it's the Lounge and not the skanky dive itself. And I'm not saying 'skanky dive' as though it's a bad thing... I like CBGB's, and I'm going to miss it. Current mood: Current music: "Stain" by Living Colour. |
